Examiner’s Michael Langston Moore hatte neulich die Möglichkeit mit Kiefer Sutherland ein paar Worte zu wechseln. In erster Linie ging es da (wie auch anders) um dessen neue Mystery Touch (deren Preview im Februar auch in Deutschland premiert). Ein wenig über den 24 – Film (keine updates!) und etwas, das schon fast wieder vergessen schien: Über The Confession, die high-quality produced Webserie, starring Kiefer Sutherland als sündigen Auftragskiller und co-starring John Hurt als Beichtvater.

Die Show ließ sich eine zeitlang auf HULU anschauen. Wobei jetzt (soweit ich das sehe) nicht mehr, sondern nur noch per nicht-so-legale Möglichkeiten (schade! und nach Deutschland hat dieses Format auch niemand geholt!)

Wie auch immer. Jedenfalls plauderten Michael und Kiefer über The Confession und eine mögliche 2. Staffel. Kurz gesagt, Sutherland hätte da richtig Bock drauf. Und Ideen habe man auch schon. Aber lest selber. Vom Examiner:

I would love to do a second part of The Confession. There certainly is a story there that Brad Mirman, who wrote [the series], and I have discussed. John Hurt had a wonderful time on the show as I did and so we would both love to do that.

Und weiter:

I think the real challenge, because I think The Confession was from a production standpoint quite high end with regards to a lot of things that have been produced for the Internet. The real difficulty is trying to figure out how to galvanize and pull in an audience because the Internet is so fragmented that there is no real kind of central post, if you will. The movie business has theaters. Television has set scheduling. The Internet is kind of when you want it, how you want it and trying to really corral an audience was what we found to be the most difficult. But I think that that’s starting to explain itself. The more things are produced for the Internet, the clearer it becomes how to go about finding that audience.
